Pay Amount (Quick Link to Work History)
At the top right of your screen, next to your WorkHub email, you will see an orange Pay Amount. This amount will update in real time each time you submit a file. Note that it represents both Available and Pending funds, so check your Balance Summary to see if you have enough funds available to meet the $10 minimum for withdrawal.
Click on the Pay Amount to jump directly to your Work History page where you can view all your past submitted work and the amount paid per file, etc.
Levels and Titles
At the top of your screen, to the left of your Pay Amount, you will see a Title and Level. These are merely for fun to track your progress as you complete more audio hours on our platform. Hover over the white Level box to see how many hours until you reach the next level and what the next title is.
Exams Tab
Upon passing the entrance exam and being officially activated as a Transcriber, you will then have access to other exams at TranscribeMe in order to gain access to a wider variety (and steadier stream) of work! Check out TranscribeMe Opportunities for the most up-to-date information on special teams and projects that will give you access to the most work (usually at higher pay!).
Check Exam Info Page
Next to each exam, under the Exam Information column, is a link that says Check Exam Info. Always be sure to read this page first before asking questions about exam availability or prerequisites, etc., as such information will always be listed on this page. In addition to basic information about the exam at the top of the page, there will be documents associated with each exam which you are expected to download and study. You must tick the checkbox to confirm that you have read these documents. The exam will not become available to you until you have done so.
We highly recommend that you reread the Check Exam Info page each time you attempt an exam because the layout of the exams are subject to change without notice as we add, remove, or update sections. If you're not sure why an exam is not available after having read and met the prerequisites for that exam, please send a ticket to training@transcribeme.com.
Some of our exams require that you upload an official photo ID before taking the exam. See Personal Information for instructions on uploading your ID.
Taking an Exam
Note that our exams are divided into sections. For best results, be sure to complete a full section before leaving the exam to come back to it later, otherwise you risk losing any work completed on that section. You CANNOT backtrack to a previous section.
Once you have completed each section of the exam, you will be directed to the Results page. Please note that there is no correlation between the order in which you answered the questions from a section and the order in which your results will be displayed. We do this to avoid our applicants taking a trial-and-error approach to our exams.
Authenticity of Exam Answers
We take the integrity of our exams very seriously. If we find that you have submitted exam answers that are not entirely your own, your account and any associated accounts will be blocked. Please read TM Basics and Policies for full details on our exam integrity policies.
The Transcription Page (Formerly the Jobs Tab)
The Transcription page (formerly the Jobs tab) is where you will click when you wish to work on short chunks of any given audio file, after the audio that was uploaded by the client is spliced into chunks. We refer to these chunks as jobs. Although chunk lengths can vary from 1.5 to up to 8 minutes, they will usually be around 2 or 4 minutes long. Please see the Transcriber Handbook for more information about the Jobs tab.
NEW Transcription Page
Please see this document for reference regarding the new Transcription interface.
Sessions Tab
Certain Special Teams, namely our QA teams, will have a Sessions tab where they complete full audios, rather than chunks of a file, at a higher pay rate. Such teams complete work on the Sessions tab in addition to any work they do on the Transcription page/Jobs tab. If you are not on one of these teams, you will not have a Sessions tab. Be sure to read TranscribeMe Opportunities as well as the Sessions Handbook for further information.
